Day of the Dead KAL

Well I have joined the Dead of the Dead KAL. I have to say after reading about Knit Think's experiences and what she will knit in memory of those lost, I was inspired to join. Over the last few years I have lost a lot of family. They just all seemed to go at the same time. I am not typically one to dwell on the negative sides of life, but I do also strive to keep those I have lost close to me in some way. Not to mention, maybe this will get me motivated to actually start knitting again. I have really been in a slump.
Also, another tidbit of info. My wedding was DoD themed. Our invitations had two dancing skeletons on the front, we carved skeletons onto pumpkins etc...
It was great, unfortunately the Pastor felt it was a little to Pagan for his taste. I could not believe he actually felt threatened by our decor. Whatever Jonathan Hawthorne, at least he signed our certificate.
Also, I have decided to allow myself to go yarn shopping tomorrow. I have officially decided that the best way to get back onto the knitting horse is to buy more knitting gear. Yesterday I went to the library to look for pattern and was greatly disappointed by my branch's selection. I may go downtown this weekend to the central library. We will see, this budget thing just never works for me.

If you go to www.mplib.org and check out the catalog, you'll find tons of pattern books. You can reserve them and have them dropped off at your library for you. I've found this to be about the only way to get the newer books, since knitting has become so popular.
Our local library has a pitiful knitting section too. You can check out books from other libraries on interlibrary loan though.
How about county libraries? I'm in Hennepin, and the libraries have a pretty good selection of current books. Sometimes there's a wait, though.
Welcome to Day of the Dead! I love your wedding decor!
