My Weekend

I thought I would start with a picture of me knitting, in public no less. Most of our father's day weekend was spent enjoying the Kato Cycle Club's Hill climb. There were two climbs over the weekend, one night climb and one day climb on Sunday. Hill Climbs each last about six hours, great time to knit right. Well I forgot to bring my other skein of yarn, so I could only make one soaker. Where was my head at.

My head I guess was here. This is a picture of the hill that people climb on their motorcycles. This picture does not even do justice to how steep it is. It is great fun, they climb is segmented into different classes by the cc's of the bike. This is really great, the first class is always the smallest bikes and kids. Sometimes there are kids as small as 5 trying to ride up it. They don't make it very far and it is so great because they have Mom or Dad chasing up after them to make sure they land softly.

Here is a picture of my father-in-law climbing the hill. He is the oldest hill climber in MN, which is great because he always wins something in his class - The Super Senior Class. Nice air Dad! Well our whole weekend wasn't spent on the hill, we always participated in a ceremony for The Wall. The Wall is a 4/5ths scale model of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC. It was pretty cool, especially to see so many vets together in solidarity.

This picture is of my brother-in-law looking like a really bad ass on his new bike. We does wheelies on the thing. My BIL participated in a motorcycle escort for the Memorial. It rained to beat Hell that while they were escorting it, so to say the least he was uninterested in having his picture taken.

Last but not least, I thought I would include a picture of my other cat - Bacon. I have had her for eight years and she is a great cat. However, she didn't really like having the flash go off while she was trying to take a nap on my husband.

I know nothing about motorcycles and hill climbing but I think it's great that your father-in-law is still doing this.
Bacon looks like a sweet cat.
She is a pretty cat - I bet there is a story behind her name?
Wow Wow on the motorcycling uphill! I've climbed a hill that steep (with a 45 lb. pack on my back) and had to hold onto trees to keep my footing.. and they go up that with a motorcycle? Big Applause for your dad! Woohoo very cool! :o)
I don't know anything about motorcycles, either - but the Wall is really cool!
Hi, Bacon!
